Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about creating an account, completing your profile, searching for a climbing partner, and using Find Partner safely.

Account and Login

How do I create a Find Partner account?

Select Create Account and enter your username, email address, password, and password confirmation. After submitting the form, check your inbox for a verification email. Your account will be activated after you verify your email address.

I did not receive the verification email. What should I do?

Wait a few minutes and check your Spam, Junk, and Promotions folders. Make sure you entered the correct email address. If you requested more than one verification email, use the most recent link.

The verification link is not clickable. What should I do?

Copy the complete verification URL from the email, paste it into your browser’s address bar, and open it. Make sure the entire link has been copied without spaces or missing characters.

Can I log in with my email address instead of my username?

Yes. You can use either your registered email address or your username together with your password.

What should I do if I forget my username?

You do not need to remember your username. Use the email address connected to your account to log in or reset your password.

I forgot my password. How can I create a new one?

Select Forgot Password on the Login page, enter your registered email address, and follow the link sent to your inbox. Remember to check your Spam or Junk folder.

How does login with a one-time code work?

Select the option to log in with a one-time code and enter the email address connected to your account. We will send a temporary code to that email address. Enter the newest code on the Login page before it expires.

My one-time login code has not arrived. What should I do?

Allow a few minutes for delivery and check your Spam or Junk folder. Avoid requesting several codes in a short period. If you request another code, always use the newest one.

Profile

How do I complete my profile?

After logging in, open the dashboard menu and select Edit Profile. Complete each of the five sections: Personal Information, Climbing Profile, Trip & Availability, Equipment, and Contact. Saving one section will take you to the next section.

Why should I complete every section of my profile?

A complete profile helps other climbers understand your experience, climbing preferences, availability, equipment, and preferred contact method. Accurate information makes it easier to find a compatible partner.

What kind of profile photo should I upload?

Use a recent and clear photo that helps other climbers recognize you. Avoid photos containing sensitive personal information. If you have not uploaded a photo yet, the default climber avatar will be displayed.

How should I enter my arrival and departure dates?

Open Trip & Availability, select both your arrival and departure dates, and save the form. Update these dates whenever your travel plans change so that you appear in relevant searches.

How should I enter my phone number and social media username?

Enter your phone number without the + symbol. For social media usernames, enter only the username without the @symbol.

Who can see my contact information?

Only add contact information that you are comfortable displaying on your public profile. Other users may use these details to contact you about climbing plans.

Why are my saved changes not visible immediately?

Refresh the page or leave the profile and open it again. Occasionally, saved changes may take a short time to appear. If the information is still missing after a few minutes, contact support.

Finding a Partner

How do I search for a climbing partner?

Use the Find Partner section on the homepage or select Search Partner from your dashboard. Choose your climbing area, arrival and departure dates, and any additional filters, then start the search.

How does the date search work?

Select both the beginning and end of the period when you want to climb. Find Partner will look for climbers whose saved availability matches the selected dates.

Why do I see “No partner matched your search”?

Your filters may be too specific. Try removing some filters, selecting a wider date range, or searching another climbing area. You can use Remove Filters to clear your current selections.

Why can’t I see my own profile in the search results?

Your own profile is intentionally hidden from your search results. This allows you to focus only on other potential climbing partners.

How can I view more information about someone?

Select View Profile on their result card. You can then review their climbing level, preferred styles, availability, equipment, introduction, and any public contact information.

What should I include in my first message?

Briefly introduce yourself and mention your dates, climbing area, experience level, preferred climbing style or grade, available equipment, and a suggested meeting time and place.

Safety and Support

Does Find Partner verify every user’s climbing ability?

No. Find Partner helps climbers connect, but profile information does not replace an in-person assessment of someone’s experience or skills. Discuss experience, belaying methods, equipment, communication commands, and the climbing plan before starting.

How can I stay safe when meeting a new climbing partner?

Meet in a public or busy location, tell someone you trust about your plan, check each other’s equipment, perform a partner check, and confirm the route and emergency plan. Never share passwords, login codes, banking details, or sensitive documents.

Is Find Partner a professional guiding service?

No. Find Partner is a platform for connecting climbers. It is not a substitute for professional instruction, guiding, technical training, or your own safety assessment.

How do I report a problem or suspicious profile?

Stop communicating with the person and contact us through the Contact Us page. Include the profile name, a description of the problem, and a screenshot if possible. Never include your password or one-time login code.

How do I log out safely?

Open the dashboard menu and select Logout. Always log out after using a shared or public device.

I still need help. How can I contact support?

Visit the Contact Us page and describe the issue. Include the email address connected to your account, the page where the problem occurred, your device type, and a screenshot if available. Never send your password or verification code.
